Job Title: Civil Engineering Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • The Civil Engineering Projects Manager will be responsible for the management of assigned projects, ensuring that the projects meet the required quality standards and timelines within approved budget.
  • He/She will also (as part of the planning process of assigned projects and to some reasonable extent) lead the design of all civil and structural works, manage vendors and partners in all areas of building/solutions and civil/structural engineering designs.
  • He/she will also execute all projects in line with the desired business objectives and ensure deliverables aligns with the strategic intent of MainOne.

Other job responsibilities will include:

  • End to end project management and delivery (Initiation, Planning, Implementation, Quality Control, Reporting, Documentation & Closure) of assigned projects and in line with overall business goals
  • Civil engineering designs/approvals of designs and supervision of all aspects of assigned the projects to conclusion
  • Undertake initial cost estimates of project for budget purposes and ensuring Projects budgets are in line with QS standard estimates.
  • Evaluate vendor’s proposal submission and make recommendations based on qualitative and qualitative vendor analysis
  • Select products/services based on numerical analysis of available products and make constructive recommendations to the Management.
  • Research and make recommendations of cost effective solution and implementation options for projects and infrastructure
  • Document and analyze potential project risks, barriers/obstacles and define appropriate mitigating plans to enable timely avoidance and resolution
  • Vendor engagement and management as needed on each project to ensure the selected vendor is competent and recommended solution for each project is practicable and cost effective
  • Engage vendors/contractors and provide value engineering on all projects as may be required from time to time.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports for management (daily, weekly, monthly…) or as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • BSc/HND in Civil Engineering with an experience of not less than 10 years in Civil engineering/Telecoms projects. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Strong Project Management experience also demonstrated by a good certification (PMP/Prince-2) or a master’s degree in project management
  • Hands-on experience of design tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, Revit etc is a requirement
  • Must be numerate with strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to research cost effective solutions for products and services is a requirement
  • Organization planning and budgeting skills
  • Good knowledge of telecoms and support infrastructure standards will be an added advantage.

Job Title: NOC Support Engineer
Location:

Responsibilities

  • The NOC Support Engineer will be responsible for proactive monitoring of Transmission and IP devices across MainOne’s network through the support of Network monitoring systems, perform first line troubleshooting/fault isolation, resolve where necessary and escalate to other levels for support in line with MainOne’s internal processes.

Other job responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and ensure full compliance with all Main One’s NOC processes and procedures
  • Ensure proper technical documentation of all network events throughout normal/shift cycle or operations.
  • Monitor MainOne’s network providing specific update, status and performance of all network components, capacity services etc.
  • Identify and provide at least first line support on all faults on the Main One network in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedure for fault escalation and management.
  • Answer all network support related telephone calls and interface with internal/external customers on operational issues and related network events, using Main One’s standard operating procedures.
  • Run daily and weekly management reports on network events and activities as well as tracking escalations and other key performance indicators and ensure all customer SLAs are met.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Qualification:

  • B.Sc/HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the configuration, operations and maintenance of optical fiber SDH and wireless network equipment.

Skill & Competencies:

  • Skilled in Ubiquiti or Ceragon radio
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Knowledge of DWDM/OTN technology
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Skilled in deploying Huawei OSN series equipment
  • Strong knowledge of PtP/PtMP Microwave technologies
  • Skilled in deploying knowledge of IP devices will be a plus

Job Title: IT Service Desk Officer

Responsibilities

  • The IT Service Desk Officer will provide high quality systems support for the various departments in MainOne and will be responsible for managing and resolving all IT related issues/queries and will also play an active role in IT implementation activities.

Other responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:

  • Set-up and install computer hardware and software including disk, tape, printers, modems, and related peripherals.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on computer hardware including backup, recovery and equipment cleaning.
  • Train users on computer hardware/software and other electronic office equipment.
  • First level selection and design of the hardware and, network and software necessary to operate and improve Main One’s information management system.
  • Manage the company’s administrative network i.e. network accounts, email accounts website access account, remote access account.
  • Monitor operational performance and troubleshoot system problems. Isolate the cause of system failures.
  • Research, evaluate and purchase new hardware and software to meet the company’s requirements computers, and other electronic office equipment.
  • Design, install, support and integrate centralized and distributed network hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Responsible for maintaining an inventory of internal licenses, overseeing updates and tracking compliance.
  • Responsible for logging all IT problems and resolutions, and liaising with the external support company.
  • Providing input into the IT strategy and annual IT budget.
